MOKOSH.….Oh My Gosh! It is good to know that you can cleanse tone moisturise your face and body with MOKOSH Certified Organic Fair Trade Skin Care without the use of preservatives.
Marion O’Leary (formerly a vet, pathologist and medical scientist) and Jayne Bland, who has a passion for organic living, are the proud Australian small business owners of Mokosh.
They endeavour to make available skin care products which contain the purest ingredients possible to ensure that their customers get the very best that nature has to offer.
I have had the pleasure of trying Mokosh Balancing Hair Treatment as well as Mokosh Shea Body Butter and Light Body Moisturiser.
Anyhow, in this review for Mokosh I now bring you their certified organic skin care products for the face:
Face Cleansing Powder
A face cleansing powder that doubles as a mask and is suitable for all skin types; now what more can you ask for?
My daily routine included the gentle exfoliation of my face from using Mokosh Face Cleansing Powder. It worked well to remove dead skin cells off my face and after rinsing my face felt so soft and smooth.
As a face mask it did wonders to unclog the pores of my skin. I left it on for 15 to 20 minutes and my face felt well cleansed after rinsing. Removing accumulated grime/matter from the pores of your skin will prepare the way for toners and moisturisers.
Pure Hydrosol Toner
A well-formulated toner can yield truly amazing benefits for your skin. Mokosh Pure Hydrosol Toner definitely comes under this category and it has a wonderful natural connection with the skin.
Made with untainted verified organic hydrosols of rose and melissa citrus (lemon balm), this pure hydrosol toner is a sure pick-me-up after cleansing your face.
Pure hydrosol toner from Mokosh gave me a sense of tranquility after spritzing it on my face. My skin felt extra soft and smooth so I know it was getting to work on repairing my skin.
I feel Rose Hydrosol (often used for its slight antiseptic and soothing properties) in combination with Melissa Cirtus Hydrosol (anti-fungal, relieves skin infection/breakouts and relieves insomnia) is undoubtedly a tonic in a bottle which is a valued addition to anyone’s skin care regimen.
Moreover, it can be used as a universal freshener and perfume. Its light floral lemony scent will please both sexes.
*Hydrosols are made through the distillation of certain plants and herbs for their oil content. After the oil is extracted the steam is collected and condensed to water. This water, known as a hydrosol, still contains some of the therapeutic benefits that the oil contains which are both well sought after for the food, hair care and skin care industries.
The term hydrosol is derived from the Latin words hydro (water) and sol (solution); “water solution”.
Natural Face Oil for Normal Skin
After spritzing Pure Hydrosol Toner over my face, I applied two to three drops of Mokosh Natural Face Oil for Normal Skin on my facial skin; including just under my chin.
Prepping the skin first with Mokosh Pure Hydrosol Toner helped to easily spread their natural oil over my face. I was left with my skin feeling well moisturised.
The distinctive formulation of raw, organic and biodynamic oils which have been enhanced with frankincense, geranium and lavender helped to even out my skins texture; aiding to restore a youthful me.
Frankincense is anti-aging as it assists in the regeneration of healthy cells and helps to keep the remaining cells and tissues in good health.
Geranium has anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties.
Lavender has antiseptic and anti-fungal properties.
So you see these three miracle workers alone help to heal the skin regardless.
The scent is divine. I would say it had a sweet spicy earthy herbal scent which was not overpowering.
Natural Face Oil for Dry Skin
If your skin is as dry as the Simpson Desert, then this face oil is right up your alley.
Even though I have normal to combination skin, I know what it is like living in Australia; the driest inhabited continent on terra (earth).
My mother’s mature skin thirsts for moisture and Mokosh Natural Face Oil for Dry Skin is perfect for her.
Marion O’Leary from Mokosh carefully considered the mix of natural oils selected to create this face oil of hers for dry and mature skin.
The addition of organic rosehip oil and organic essential oil of patchouli in this formulation maximises sustenance (nourishment) for the skin.
Rosehip Oil is a notable natural skin care moisturiser for treating dry skin. Rich in Vitamins A, C, E, rosehip oil helps to put a stop to the untimely ageing of the skin caused by sun exposure; aids healing and helps reduce scarring.
Patchouli Essential Oil works well in the treatment for skin disorders.
The antifungal tissue renewing properties of patchouli encourage the development of new skin cells while fighting infection. This helps to speed up the healing process.
Circulation is the key here, so the warmth and energy sensation given soothes and revives the skin.
As with the Natural Face Oil for Normal Skin, you need to moisten the skin first to aid in the spread of the Natural Face Oil for Dry Skin over the face. Mokosh Pure Hydrosol Toner will help there.

Light Face Cream
I love the sweet scent of vanilla and I could detect the mild fragrance of vanilla once I took a whiff of Mokosh Light Face Cream. So inviting!
This delightful delicate face cream absorbed immediately after applying it on my skin. It achieved fine results for both my mother and I as our face felt well hydrated.
Marion O’Leary, founder of Mokosh, knows that nutrients are essential for the metabolism of skin cells; so now she has added sea buckthorn oil and borage oil to her light face cream.
Giving this cream an extra boost of anti-oxidants, vitamins and minerals has now made Mokosh Light Face Cream worth its weight in gold!
Suitable for all skin types.
Rich Face Cream – Award Winner!
Your skin will bask in its glory as mine did when you apply this award-winning Mokosh Rich Face Cream on your face.
It certainly is not hard to believe that Mokosh have been recognized for the outstanding purity of their Rich Face Cream, which they have formulated with certified organic nourishing oils as well as certified unrefined shea butter, by winning the “2013 Green Lifestyle Awards Beauty Product”.
This cream was a sure winner for my mother because of her mature dry skin. Even though my skin is not as dry, my skin still benefited. We both noticed how moisturised our skin felt after each use; so soft and supple too.
Its fragrance is very pleasing and through my olfactory (sense of smell) I could trace an earthy herbaceous scent with a hint of rose.
Use Mokosh Rich Face Cream as a night cream and let the creams high anti-oxidant contents work their wonders on your skin while you are asleep.
The cream is best used straight after cleansing the face whilst it is still damp or apply after spraying the face with Mokosh Pure Hydrosol Toner.
