Black Cumin Seeds have been recorded over a span of 3,000 years but how many people in the 21st Century really know much about them?
Unfortunately, these little black seeds have been ‘put on the back burner’ (put aside) for more conventional methods to date.
Well before man decided to imitate nature though, black cumin seeds were used by our ancestral cultures for immune support to help heal all illnesses except the inevitable; meaning death.
Biodynamic Demeter Black Cumin Seed Oil and Certified Organic Black Cumin Seed Oil, from HALKA B. Organics, have anti-inflammatory properties which assist to strengthen the immune system.

You could say black cumin seeds are miracle workers as the oil extracted from them aid in the battle (fight) against bacterial and fungal infections.
Black cumin seed oil added in a persons daily diet helps to ease such ailments as: arthritis, asthma, bronchitis, cold and flu symptoms, digestive problems, eczema, inflammations and different forms of cancer.
My mother and I have tried both black cumin seed oils (stored in dark glass bottles) from Halka Beseda, founder of HALKA B. Organics, and found our favourite to be the Biodynamic Demeter Black Cumin Seed Oil; purely in taste only. The Certified Organic Black Cumin Seed Oil has a milder taste.
Even though black cumin seed oils therapeutic health benefits have not been assessed by the TGA (Therapeutic Goods Administration), we would still like to put our trust in something so pure and natural than most treatments which have been prescribed for use today.
Halka says:
“If you want the best therapeutic effect of our black cumin seed oils then I recommend to take one teaspoon about 10 minutes before anything else goes into your stomach. This way it can truly do its wonders.
I would use the same oil as a face/body oil.
Add 1/2 a teaspoon of the black cumin seed oil to some water and give a facial steam bath.
If under stress, then the black cumin seed oil will address health and help to strengthen the endocrine system as well as immune system.
You can put black cumin seed oil into smoothies or use it in salad sauces or sprinkled over just about anything.
But I use it just as a very yummy oil in the kitchen for just about anything where I add oils and now and then I feel like a sip of it.
Just listen to your body would be really my advice.”
Please Note: It is important to note that pregnant women are not allowed to take black cumin seed oil as it contracts the uterus and can induce labour.
Another observed side effect is that it can lower blood pressure.
The cost of black cumin seed oil is expensive yes but so are cigarettes and alcohol. Now which would be better for your health?
